Digitalization Check

Your digitalization level in three minutes

Seven questions about your day-to-day work, three key figures for your company. You get your digitalization level right away, the savings potential in working days per year and a comparison with the 103 participants who have taken the check since 2022.

Comparison values from 103 responses, March 2022 to August 2026, as of September 19, 2026

What the Digitalization Check measures

The check assesses six areas of construction supervision: photo documentation, defect management, daily reports, BIM during execution, data protection and how well your IT systems work together. Each answer is scored, and the scores add up to your digitalization level. From the frequency of your site inspections and three key figures, it also calculates how many working days per year you can win back with digital documentation. The evaluation runs in your browser; nothing is transmitted until you send the contact form.

Seven questions about your day-to-day work

For each question, choose the answer that comes closest to your everyday practice. There are no wrong answers, only a current state.

How often, on average, are you on a construction site for a site inspection?

Counts toward the savings potential, not toward the digitalization level.

How do you document the state of construction during site walks?
How do you record and track construction defects?
How do you keep your daily site reports?
Do you use 3D models, for example IFC files, during construction to locate the current state of the works?
What role does the protection of personal data play in your construction documentation?
How well do your IT systems for construction execution work together?

The savings potential is a model calculation using experience values from Open Experience. It is an estimate and no promise. The method is explained below the result.

How the check calculates

Three numbers, three methods. All factors are open so that you can put the result into perspective.

  • Digitalization levelSix questions give 0 to 10 points per answer, 56 at most in total. The fewer points, the more digital. The level is the distance to the maximum score in percent. The question about how often you inspect the site counts only toward the savings potential.
  • ComparisonSince March 2022, 103 participants have completed the check, excluding test entries and implausible inputs (as of September 2026). The comparison shows how many of them have more points than you. Half of them score 45 points or more.
  • Savings potentialA model calculation using your three key figures and experience values from Open Experience: follow-up work per hour on site, extra effort per defect and per daily report compared with a professional solution. It shows the order of magnitude and the biggest lever; it is no promise.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to my data?

The evaluation runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is transmitted as long as you do not send the contact form. If you do send it, your result is included in the message and goes to our sales team in Karlsruhe; we use your details only to handle your inquiry.

How long does the check take?

About three minutes: seven questions with three to six answers each and three sliders for your key figures. The result appears on the page immediately.

Where do the comparison values come from?

From the same check on the previous Open Experience website. Since March 2022, 103 participants have completed it; test entries and implausible inputs have been removed. Almost three quarters take photos with a phone and file them in folders, a good half keep defects in Excel and Word, and more than two thirds write daily reports in Word or on paper.

How reliable is the savings potential?

It is a model calculation using your key figures and experience values from Open Experience; it is no promise. It shows the order of magnitude and where the biggest lever lies. In the demo we recalculate your case with your real numbers.

Can I take the check more than once?

Yes. Change an answer or a key figure and the page recalculates immediately. That also shows you what a single step, such as construction software for photos, changes in the result.

You know where you stand. The next step takes 45 minutes.

In the demo we show you, on your own project, how the areas with the most points run digitally.
