In Pfinztal, east of Karlsruhe, two OXI chassis, the DIGIBAU 360 helmet camera, the Construction Webcam and a weather station run every day. You drive the robot yourself, put on the helmet and see on screen what arrives in the project documentation. Visits by appointment, around 90 minutes.
What is the Construction Robotics Showroom?
The Construction Robotics Showroom is the exhibition of Open Experience GmbH in Pfinztal near Karlsruhe, Germany. It houses the equipment that lets a construction site document itself, all of it running: the OXI robot on two chassis (the wheeled biped TRON1 by LimX Dynamics and the quadruped L1-W by Genisom AI), the DIGIBAU 360 helmet camera, the Construction Webcam and the Construction Weather station. Visitors drive the robot over a course with stairs, record a walkthrough with the helmet and then see the footage in the Open Experience platform. A visit is free of charge, takes around 90 minutes and is arranged in advance.

OXI on TRON1
The wheeled biped by LimX Dynamics carries DIGIBAU 360 across the site. It rolls on level ground and climbs stairs, clears obstacles up to 40 cm and slopes up to 30°, weighs 20 kg and carries 10 kg of sensors. In the showroom it runs the course with the staircase.

The quadruped by Genisom AI has wheels on its legs: it rolls along paths and walks over kerbs and rough ground. IP54 rated for outdoor use. This build is meant for perimeters and open areas of the kind surveyed in the KRITIS3D research project.

The 360° helmet camera, on the market since 2022. Put it on and start walking: every room is then stored as a walkthrough that can be opened again years later. In the showroom you try the helmet first, then the evaluation.

All software productsHow a visit works
A visit takes around 90 minutes and follows the path a recording takes on site: from the device into the documentation. Come alone or with up to eight colleagues.
- Station 1, the courseOXI runs the course with stairs and landings. After a short briefing you drive it yourself and watch live what the camera on its back is recording.
- Station 2, the outdoor areaOutside stand the weather station and the mast with the Construction Webcam. This is where the quadruped drives over gravel and kerbs.
- Station 3, the helmetYou put on DIGIBAU 360 and take a short walk. A few minutes later the walkthrough is available in the platform.
- Station 4, the screenEverything recorded during your visit sits in one project: 360° walkthrough, webcam image, weather data and defects from the app. If you bring plans or photos of your own site, we go through the workflow on those.
You receive the address and meeting point with your appointment confirmation. The visit is free of charge.

- Site management and project controlDo helmet camera and robot fit your inspection routine, and what do the recordings contribute to defect notices and acceptance? That can be settled here in a morning.
- Clients and housing companiesWhat does a site look like from the office? Webcam, walkthroughs and weather data show the status without anyone having to drive out.
- Universities and research partnersThe OXI platform is ROS 2 compatible. Course and outdoor area are available by arrangement for theses, project outlines and trials.
- Press and associationsFootage and interviews on site while the equipment is running. For filming we schedule extra time.
Pfinztal lies east of Karlsruhe
The showroom is in Pfinztal in the district of Karlsruhe, about 20 minutes by car from our office on Amalienstraße. Coming from Stuttgart or Pforzheim, you reach Pfinztal via the B10; from Karlsruhe the light rail runs there.

Frequently asked questions
What does a visit to the showroom cost?
Nothing. The visit is free of charge, also for groups. You need neither a customer account nor an active licence.
How long does a visit take, and how many people can come?
Allow around 90 minutes. We guide groups of up to eight people through the four stations together; larger groups are split across two appointments.
Can I drive the robot myself?
Yes. OXI runs the course by remote control, and you take over the controller after a short briefing.
Can I bring my own construction site?
Bring plans, photos or access to your project. At station 4 we go through the workflow on your project, from walkthrough to daily report.
Is the showroom accessible?
Tell us what you need when you enquire and we will plan the tour accordingly. The course itself has steps; the robot is easy to watch there from ground level too.
Can I buy or rent the equipment on site?
In the showroom you see the equipment in operation. Quotes for purchase, rental and the platform come from our sales team afterwards, on request the same day.
