What does OptiTime do?
With OptiControl, OptiTime develops software for the construction industry that works in three steps: plan, record, optimise. It combines staff, equipment and vehicle planning with time tracking and prepares the data for payroll, cost accounting and ERP systems. Open Experience works alongside it: defects, photos, checklists and daily reports capture how the building was actually built. Resources and working hours on one side, documented execution on the other.
What OptiControl covers
The provider structures the software into three steps that build on one another.
Plan
Assign staff, equipment and vehicles to projects — with bottleneck calculation and dependencies, in table or map view. Plus route and holiday planning.
Record
Staff hours for payroll and cost accounting, on site or at a fixed location, in real time or entered manually. Equipment and materials are booked along with them.
Optimise
Prepare payroll data automatically, hand it over to ERP and document management systems, and evaluate jobs, staff and equipment in real time.
What is kept where
The most common question in joint conversations is not what both systems can do, but where the line runs. This overview answers it.

The last row is the only genuine overlap: both sides can have forms filled in on site. Which system owns that in a given project depends on where the result is needed — in the accounts or in the project records. We settle that in conversation rather than answering it in the abstract.
Why hours recorded twice are expensive
On many sites the same working hour is written down twice: once for the invoice, once for the project file. That costs time and produces two versions that later contradict each other. Deciding in advance which system owns which entry saves both — and makes it clear which record counts if there is a dispute.
A partnership does not automatically mean a ready-made interface for every constellation. We clarify data flows, setup and responsibilities against the systems you already have.

Alongside its headquarters in Rheine-Mesum, OptiTime runs branches in Nordhorn and in Berkheim near Memmingen. OptiTime goes back to "Elter Schaltanlagenbau", founded in 1992 by Frank Asche and Berthold Wedi, and today develops software for the construction industry with around 40 employees at three locations.

Who is OptiControl intended for?
For construction companies that plan staff, equipment and vehicles and record working hours for payroll and cost accounting — from mid-sized contractors to firms running their own fleet.
Is OptiControl the same as Construction Time?
No. OptiControl plans resources and records working hours for accounting. Construction Time from Open Experience tracks dates and deadlines in the construction project. The products have different jobs and do not replace one another.
Both systems handle forms on site — where do I draw the line?
A useful rule of thumb: whatever feeds the invoice belongs where the hours are recorded. Whatever evidences the state of the building and belongs in the project file belongs in the OX applications. What matters is where the result is needed later — we settle that together before rollout.
Does that mean recording hours twice?
That is exactly the situation the split is meant to avoid. Which system owns which entry is decided once; duplicate recording arises above all where that decision is missing.
Are an interface and a partner licence included in the OX package?
An OptiTime licence or a particular interface is not automatically part of an OX package. Talk to us about your use case; we will clarify the scope required and the terms.
